OnlyFans vs Fansly, if you are the one paying
By Remy · Updated August 2026
Nearly everything written about these two platforms is aimed at creators deciding where to publish. If you are on the other side of the transaction, most of that is irrelevant — payout rates and referral programmes do not affect your month. Here is the comparison that does.
The short version
They work the same way. Subscribe to a person, see her posts, pay extra for locked messages. If a creator you like is on one and not the other, that decides it, and nothing below outweighs that.
Where they actually differ for you
Tiers. Fansly lets a creator run several subscription levels at different prices, plus a free tier alongside a paid one. OnlyFans is one page at one price. In practice that means Fansly pages can offer a cheaper way in — and also that the cheap tier may not include the thing you subscribed for. Read what each tier contains before picking.
Discovery. Fansly has real categories and tags you can browse. OnlyFans search only matches names, which is why an entire industry of directories exists to fill the gap. If you already know who you are looking for, this does not matter. If you are browsing, Fansly is less work.
Size. OnlyFans is far larger. More creators, and the ones with a mainstream profile are usually there first. Fansly skews toward niche and alt content, partly because its category system rewards being findable in a niche.
The statement. Both bill through a company name rather than the brand. Neither puts “OnlyFans” or “Fansly” in plain words on your statement in most cases — but descriptors change, so if this matters to you, make one small purchase and look, rather than trusting any article including this one. More on the statement question.
Trials. Both support free trial links. OnlyFans trials are more common simply because more creators are there.
What is the same
Pay-per-view works identically on both, and it is where most of the money goes on either. Cancelling means switching auto-renew off and keeping access to the end of the period, on both. Neither shows creators your legal name, email or card details. What creators can see about you.
So which one
Follow the creator, not the platform. Nobody has ever regretted a subscription because of which site processed it, and the differences above are small next to whether the person on the other end posts and replies.
If you are starting from nothing and just want to browse, Fansly’s categories will get you somewhere faster. If you have a name in mind, it is probably OnlyFans, and a list like this one is the shortcut past the search box.
