“Free” means two different things on OnlyFans
By Remy · Updated August 2026
Two pages can both say free and bill you in completely different ways. One of them will never take a subscription payment from you. The other will start taking one automatically on a date you were told about and probably forgot. Worth knowing which you are on.
Free trial
A creator generates a link that waives the subscription fee for a set window — usually seven days. When the window closes, the subscription starts at the page’s normal price and renews monthly until you stop it.
The conversion is the point. Nobody is hiding it; it is how the feature is designed, and the date is visible in your subscriptions list from the moment you claim the link. Switch auto-renew off on day one and you still keep the whole free period.
Free page
No subscription fee, ever. Anyone can follow and see the feed. The money comes from somewhere else entirely: locked messages, tips, custom requests, bundles.
This is where people get caught out. A free page can cost more in a month than a $15 subscription, because there is no ceiling — you are billed per item rather than per month, and the spend is driven by how much you engage rather than by a fixed date.
Which works out cheaper
| Free trial | Free page | |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription | Free, then the listed price | Never charged |
| What drives spend | A renewal date | Every message you unlock |
| Cost if you do nothing | Nothing, if you cancel renewal | Nothing |
| Cost if you engage a lot | Still just the subscription | No upper limit |
| Easy to predict? | Yes | No |
A subscription page is a known number. A free page is a variable one. If you want the cheaper month, the answer depends entirely on whether you are the sort of person who leaves messages unopened.
Reading it on a card
Every creator on this site shows which model she runs. “Free 7 days, then $10/mo” is a trial that converts. “Free page” means no subscription at all — and that the inbox is the business. Penny runs the second kind; everyone else runs the first.
